About this property

Newton-by-the-Sea 4 miles. A stunning barn conversion, superbly located in Tughall Steads, a peaceful hamlet nestled between the popular beach villages of Beadnell and Newton-by-the-Sea. Luxuriously appointed throughout to provide spacious, contemporary accommodation, this Tughall cottage is ideal for families and friends who wish to enjoy spending time together exploring Northumberland. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one family room with a large TV. The family room can be adapted to your requirements on request. The master bedroom on the first floor has a king-size double bed and an en-suite shower room. The large, open plan, contemporary living area of this Tughall cottage, still with the original trusses, is perfect for large families, with a 50" TV screen and a tasteful wall fire; this is the ideal space to curl up with a glass of something cold whilst the children entertain themselves in the games room in the garage playing pool or air hockey. The modern kitchen has everything needed to rustle up those culinary delights and the handy breakfast area is just the spot for nibbles whilst chatting to the chef. The external utility has a washer/dryer and there is an additional fridge and a freezer in the garage; an added bonus for larger parties. To the front of this Newton-by-the-Sea cottage there is a sheltered, raised decking area with furniture, chiminea and barbecue, just the spot for those long summer evenings to dine alfresco and watch the sun go down. The nearby villages of Beadnell and Low Newton-by-the-Sea have everything you could possibly want from a coastal break, whilst Newton is more laid back with a great little pub and microbrewery, perfectly positioned for watching the fishing boats bobbing on the sea, Beadnell is a haven for anyone wishing to participate in watersports. Further afield, the delights of the Heritage Coast are just a short drive away, Northumberland is famous for its castles, golden beaches and Roman forts. A perfect Newton-by-the-Sea cottage, in a great position for a large family holiday.

Established in Saxon times, Beadnell is a charming harbour village set on a wonderful stretch of the Northumberland Coast, an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, popular with birdwatchers. Beadnell Bay itself has a Blue Flag award and is one of the prettiest beaches in the area. The town of Seahouses is close to the beach and with two welcoming pubs and shops and restaurants close by it is, unsurprisingly popular with locals and holidaymakers alike. The Farne Islands are a short boat trip away, as are both Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles. The former is a huge bird sanctuary, created by St Cuthbert, who along with St Aidan, was one of the first monks to bring Christianity to Britain. That heritage is also upheld at the holy island of Lindisfarne, which can be reached via the causeway at Beal (depending on the tides).

Loved watching the hares and stoat passing by our cottage. Will certainly book this again.

It's really spacious with excellent living and dining space and a really well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious (the master is an amazing space) and the beds all comfy. The children absolutely loved the games room. Perfect location too, close to amazing beaches and walks. We felt previous negative review/s were an unfair reflection of the property and were pleased they didn't put us off. We would love to stay again.
