The living area at this Newton-by-the-Sea cottage is spacious and bright with a toasty woodburner and doors to a south-facing veranda, an ideal place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun descend behind the Cheviots to the west. The living area exudes real style, and the bespoke kitchen includes a Rangemaster cooker with five induction rings, unique black granite sink and worktops and a freestanding central island unit. The bedrooms in this Newton-by-the-Sea cottage have both been tastefully furnished with great attention to detail. The king-size double bedroom with en-suite marble wet room has doors to a patio area overlooking fields and the burn, which gurgles past on its way to the sea at Embleton. The second bedroom has a super king-size zip/link bed; this can be two singles if required so it’s suitable for couples or children, with a marble en-suite wet room and fabulous freestanding cast iron bateau bath. Outside this Newton-by-the-Sea cottage there are two areas for sitting, a lawn and the property nestles on the edge of the owners’ seven-acre smallholding; the fields are there for your enjoyment and there is a small play area with swing in the croft field. Three of the best eateries in the area are just a short drive away, and the rest of the delights of Northumberland are all within easy reach, including the castles of Warkworth, Dunstunburgh, Bamburgh and Alnwick, and those empty, long endless golden beaches, are just waiting to enchant you. This really is a very special Newton-by-the-Sea cottage, and the perfect destination to chill out and recharge in peace and tranquillity. The main drawback was that the track to reach it from the road was an un made cinder track and if we had met another vehicle it would have been a long way to reverse as this track was a quarter of a mile long. The other thing not mentioned is that if you need a shop it is about 4miles to 5 miles away. For nature lovers it is lovely

The only minor downside was the extreme heat in the evening when returning to the farm, where we had to open all the doors and windows to regulate the temperature. Perhaps not a problem on most weeks of the year!!

There are walks from the door. Many beautiful beaches are within a short drive. We had a couple of issues which were sorted by the friendly owner Jeremy. We had a fantastic week. (Please note that you need to let the owner know if you need the twin bedroom made up as a twin rather than a king size.)
