Nearby Amble, famous for it Puffin Festival (there’s a 36,000 Puffin colony on Coquet Island) is within easy reach with its pubs, cafes and shops. This is a great choice if you’re looking for an active holiday with sailing, kayaking and power boat hire golf, walking and mountain biking are available locally.

Living so far away from the coast, it is such a treat to stay here with the beach as our extended back garden. Our first visit 5 months ago gave us a taste of this beautiful coastline and a desire to return to explore furthur. Senna our labrador was desperate to get to the beach as soon as we arrived and has had the time of her life finding rabbit carcasses in the dunes, obviously ignoring our cries to "leave it". Walking along the frosty beach -2 degrees early morning was beautiful and a first to see the frosty sand and seaweed. A lovely time of year to visit and hopefully we will be back soon.
