Some of the farm buildings are over 200 years old but step inside and you have warm cosy interiors, beautifully furnished and modern appliances. Nelly’s Cottage has three spacious bedrooms with plenty of room for 6 people and one dog. Low Cornriggs Farm and surrounding area is registered with English Nature as a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the wildflower meadows in bloom from the end of May to the beginning of July - a mass of unusual fauna and flora. Rare rare birds are frequent visitors, look out for Yellow Wagtails, Curlews and Lapwings.

This is a great base for walking and cycling, with many footpaths easily accessible and the National Cycle Network routes criss crossing the region. Former mines have been replaced by museums - this used to be a very productive lead mining area and its well worth visiting The North of England Lead Mining Museum at Killhope. Another go to destination is the spectacular waterfall of High Force where the River Tees plunges straight down 70 feet, this is the highest single drop waterfall in England and Beamish and Hadrian's Wall are all a short drive. The property is close to Allenheads and the Coast to Coast Cycle route. Walking, cycling, fishing all available locally.
