About this property

A pretty, detached, stone-built, single-storey cottage, located in the grounds of Bank House, Guyzance, just nine miles south of Alnwick. Finished to a high standard throughout, this bright and airy cottage offers character and charm and is an ideal base for a couple wishing to explore the delights of the Heritage Coastline and the surrounding area. The comfortable sitting room has a large window with views to the front and a huge sofa; a wonderful spot to relax and put your feet up. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area have all the essentials for serving up a great Northumberland meal and the door from the kitchen leads to a lovely patio area and lawned garden, a sunny spot to relax with friends and enjoy an alfresco meal. The French-style king-size bedroom is a peaceful haven to retire to at the end of the day and the bathroom provides a bath for those who like to soak tired limbs. Just ten minutes’ drive will take you to The Northumberland Arms in Felton, a well-established local pub serving fine food and top-quality ales, or why not try afternoon tea at The Running Fox serving gorgeous cream teas and cakes? Kizzie's Cottage is within easy reach of the A1 which will take you to all the delights that Northumberland has to offer, including Alnwick with its renowned castle and gardens, Brinkburn Priory with its peaceful riverside setting and the National Trust's Cragside House. Discover the beauty of the Heritage Coast boasting endless beaches, and the rolling Cheviot Hills, all within a 15 minute drive, making this cottage an ideal base for a break in Northumberland.

Situated on a bend at the banks of the looping River Coquet, the picturesque village of Warkworth is dominated by the ruins of its twelfth century castle. A great location from which to enjoy Northumberland's Heritage Coast, this wonderful village is full of historical intrigue as the ancestral home to the Percy family - Henry Percy being the lover of a young Anne Boleyn, Henry viii's second wife. Another Percy residence can be seen nearby in the form of Alnwick Castle, most famous now for its part as Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films. Full of Georgian and early Victorian houses, Alnwick boasts a host of architecturally interesting buildings and is home to an exceptional range of galleries, antique shops, a village shop-cum-post office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops.
