Guests say

Fig Cottage is highly praised for its beautiful, modern design and comfortable furnishings. Guests appreciate its excellent location, a stone's throw from Kirkby Stephen's centre, with easy access to local amenities and scenic walks. The property is well-equipped, offering a sauna and a clean, welcoming environment. Some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for additional comfort are noted, but overall, guests are delighted and express a strong desire to return.

The majority of guests report the cottage as very clean and well-presented. However, one review mentioned a dog odour and hair, and another noted the need for additional cleaning upon arrival. These seem to be isolated incidents, as the general consensus is one of cleanliness.

The location is consistently lauded for its proximity to the town centre, local shops, and pubs, as well as being an excellent base for walks. Its ease of access to the town's amenities and scenic surroundings contribute to a high rating.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy. Some reviews suggest that the living area could be improved with additional seating for larger groups, and that the heating is uneven between floors. Overall, comfort is rated highly.

Facilities like the sauna and kitchen are appreciated, but some guests mention issues such as a non-functioning oven and inadequate pan sizes. The lack of hanging space in some bedrooms and the need for an additional shower are also noted. Despite these points, the facilities generally meet guests' needs.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness category accurately, and the score is set to null.

Beautifully furnished and so cosy we didn't want to leave. Everything you needed was provided and the football table gave us hours of entertainment . I highly recommend this place .

House was perfect, would definitely book it again.

Easy access to the town for shops and restaurants was appreciated. For the walkers the opportunity to ‘do’ the Nine Standards walk to the top and back in a morning was great. A delicious meal in The Pennine Hotel was a perfect end to the day. We all thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief stay in Fig Cottage.
