High Rigg Shepherd's Delight is a well-received lodge in Cumbria, praised for its peaceful location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like shepherd's pie and fizz, the well-maintained hot tub, and the cosy decor. Despite a few minor criticisms, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.
Guests consistently mention the cleanliness of the lodge, describing it as spotless and well-kept, which indicates a high standard of hygiene and care.
The lodge's location is frequently praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. However, one review mentioned overgrown trees obstructing views, slightly lowering the score.
Comfort is highlighted in reviews, with guests finding the lodge cosy and the bed comfortable. The presence of a log burner and hot tub adds to the overall comfort level.
Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with a well-equipped lodge and hot tub. A few guests noted discrepancies with photos and a lack of hot water, which impacts the score.
The thoughtful gestures of shepherd's pie and fizz are well-received, although it's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

I came here on a recommendation and will certainly be recommending it myself in future. The hot tub and woodfire made the trip feel extra special, and the shepherd's pie and fizz was a lovely (delicious!) touch. The site itself is incredibly scenic and a really great spot if you're looking to get away from it all, as we were. We were also lucky enough to meet the owners in the local pub that evening, who were very welcoming. Thanks so much for having us!
