Sycamore Lodge is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and peaceful location with sea views. Guests appreciate the well-maintained grounds, friendly host, and the lodge's proximity to coastal villages and moors. While some minor maintenance issues and limited Wi-Fi connectivity are noted, the overall experience is of a cosy, welcoming stay ideal for exploring North Yorks.
The majority of guests report the lodge as spotlessly clean and tidy, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness oversights. The consistent mention of cleanliness suggests a high standard maintained at the property.
The location is frequently described as peaceful with beautiful views, well-placed for trips to coastal villages and the moors. Some guests note it is slightly isolated, requiring a car for beach access, but this does not detract significantly from its appeal.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with quality towels and bed linen, and a warm, cosy atmosphere. There are a few remarks about specific items like a small frying pan and a green light in a bedroom, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the lodge being well-equipped. However, there are comments about the need for maintenance on items like the bath panel and a cracked toilet rail, and some guests had difficulty with Wi-Fi and appliance instructions.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the host that would fall under this category. Therefore, while the host is noted to be friendly and helpful, there is insufficient information to score thoughtfulness based on the provided criteria.
Danby 6 miles. This attractive lodge is set on a small site on the edge of Liverton village in the North York Moors National Park. In an elevated position, it has far-reaching views over open countryside and is well placed for exploring the nearby Heritage coastline and the beautiful surrounding moorland. There is an open plan living area, traditionally furnished, with a compact modern kitchen and a comfortable sitting area with a log-effect electric fire. French doors open onto a decked veranda, where you can relax with a glass of wine and drink in the glorious vista. With two cosy bedrooms and a shared bathroom, families are well catered for in this welcoming holiday lodge. Outside, there are communal lawned grounds with plenty of space for children to play. The immediate area is a walkers paradise, with a network of public footpaths and trails to follow, while the historic coastal villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay are just a few minutes drive. Wander around the quaint narrow streets and alleyways, stroll down to the small harbours, or enjoy a cream tea in one of the quirky cafes. Both young and old will enjoy crabbing in the rock pools and building sandcastles on the beach. The Danby Moors Centre is well worth a visit, with its interesting exhibitions and guided walks, while the excellent tea room there offers tempting refreshments. The elegant Victorian spa town of Saltburn is close by, with pretty ornamental gardens, an historic pier and a unique gravity-driven cliff lift, which begins at the top promenade and goes down to the beach below. With restaurants, cafes and independent shops, there is plenty to while away a pleasant afternoon. Popular Whitby is an absolute must, with its iconic Abbey reached by the 199 ancient stone steps and its long sandy beaches. Enjoy fish and chips while looking out to sea, or perhaps a cocktail in one of the harbour bars. A comfortable lodge in a wonderful part of the country. Note: This property is next to Ref. 920687, together they sleep 8.

The outside did look a little tired but due to the awful summer I'm not surprised and this didn't distract from the location and facilities within. A welcome pack of hot beverage items, tea/coffee and milk would have been nice after a long journey. Lovely holiday base for many fabulous local attractions.

Everything was as we remembered from last time we stayed here back in 2016. The manager came round to see us and asked if we needed anything. Hoping to stay again soon

Great area to explore, me and my son loved cycling and hiking there. If you are an EV driver like me there are plenty of reasonably priced chargers at the North Road car park, just swipe your card and charge.
