About this property

A very well presented stone cottage located centrally in the town of Morpeth. Everything about this property oozes character and style, from the delightful bedrooms on the first floor, carpeted throughout, to the sloping ceilings and Velux windows opening up the living space. The bathroom is beautifully done in chic tiles and the kitchen boasts beautiful granite worktops. The top floor presents a stunning open-plan living area with gorgeous wooden floors sweeping down a long walkway to a set of pristine glass French doors. Harbouring two full length windows either side, where you can see the river below and also they let the light stream through, highlighting the luxurious furnishings and fine aesthetics. Step through onto the Juliet balcony with your glass of wine and delight in views of the river below and the castle in the distance. The ground floor has an automated garage for your convenience which is also host to a utility area at the back; should you wish to volunteer yourself for the weeks' washing and ironing everything you need is at hand. Morpeth is a lovely market town drawing in lots of locals and tourists from afar. It is also the ideal base for accessing the beautiful coast or abounding countryside. Attractions include Druridge Bay, the city of Newcastle with its vibrant streets and bustling nightlife and the National Trust's Wallington Hall to the west of the town. Locally you can visit the Chantry Bagpipe Museum, view the remains of the historic castle, stroll through some lovely parks and gardens or take a picnic to enjoy along the riverside. There are also many shops, bars and restaurants to indulge in. River Cottage is a delightful place to share a memorable holiday with your loved ones.

Offering the remains of an historic castle, parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum, Morpeth is ideal for visiting surrounding attractions such as Druridge Bay to the east, the vibrant city of Newcastle to the south, Alnwick to the north and the National Trust's Wallington Hall to the west. It's a beautiful building sympathetically restored. Everything from the building to the fixtures and fittings has been carried out to a high specification. The soft furnishings, pictures and ornaments are all co ordinating and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in cosy comfortable River Cottage. Thank you Abdul.

A great base to use to explore Northumberland and close to the many amenities Morpeth provides. Cottage is comfortable and very suitable for families with young children( we have two kids under 12). This is our preferred place to stay when we visit Northumberland.
