About this property

This superb detached cottage is situated in the lovely harbour village of Beadnell, close to the fishing village of Seahouses and the town of Bamburgh. With plenty to see and do within reach makes this delightful holiday home an excellent place to stay. Once inside this lovely cottage you will find a cosy sitting room with woodburner, a perfect place to relax on a cool evening after a day’s walking along the coastline. Next to the sitting room is a light and airy open plan living area with a modern kitchen, which has all the appliances you need, and completing the ground floor is a convenient basin and WC. Upstairs there are three charming king-size double bedrooms, two of which have the bonus of en-suite facilities, and a small twin bedroom, along with a family bathroom. Outside is a large enclosed lawned garden, where your pet or children can run off excess energy, whilst you relax with a cold drink in hand. Set in the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Beauty, Beadnell village has a harbour, a shop, two pubs and a café, as well as a sandy beach. Just 1.5 miles away is Seahouses, another seaside village with further amenities, including a supermarket and restaurant, as well as boat trips to the beautiful Farne Islands. Further afield are Bamburgh and Alnwick, both with their castles and both are well worth a visit, as is the stunning Northumberland National Park. An excellent Northumberland base for a family getaway.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food.

    The layout of the house is excellent but the cleanliness is wanting, we felt that we were cleaning the house after previous occupants, it was certainly much cleaner when we left than when we arrived. eg:- Shower head black I don't think it's ever been cleaned Shower drain 75% blocked an issue I have encountered twice before with Sykes cottage lets Settees have not been cleaned underneath for months Tumble drier doesn't work because the filters are so jammed we couldn't clear them. Curtain rail in living room held up with tie wraps! Baby gate rail catch comes straight out the wall with plugs and screws still attached. I could go on but you get the message. We had an excellent time but question the cleaning carried out prior to arrival and maintenance of facilities. Its okay listing items as a benefit but if they don't work don't list them

    This was our 5th stay at Sandy Shore. The house was nice and clean on our arrival. It was nice to see the seating in the lounge has been changed and updated. Much more comfortable. The kettle had a dodgy switch but this was quickly rectified with a new kettle. Was disappointed with the Craster Arms. Had roast lamb and whilst there was a lot of it the quality was poor. The Middle Inn in Bamburgh is excellent. We love Beabnell and will be back next year. Pete
