Guests are invited in via the main entrance into a light and airy open plan living, kitchen and dining area. The wood burning stove being the focal point, is a welcome feature for cosy nights in with your loved one after a romantic walk taking in the spectacular High Force on a frosty winters day.
Stairs from the hallway lead to the master bedroom and shower room. California Cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway or for those seeking a walking holiday from their doorstep.
Step foot outside and wander along the footpath into the town for a local pint, fish and chips, or a browse around the shops. For those seeking to enjoy a spot of fishing, permits can be purchased to fish the river Tees.

Great little cottage, very warm, comfortable and clean, welcome pack with cakes and milk etc Log burner with some logs, I bought plenty with me to keep the burner going which was very cozy as it was freezing outside. Nice and comfortable to chill and go out walking aswell. Pub and cafes and coop to keep you stocked up and well fed. If I’m in the area again I’d stay or recommend to stay here Couldn’t park outside but a local resident showed me a pavement area to park on and didn’t need to move my van in 4 days so that wasn’t a problem
