About this property

This absolutely charming holiday cottage with its delightful cottage courtyard garden, surrounded by communal country gardens dates back to the 15th Century. The Cottage is situated within the curtilage of Hales Hall, Loddon in South Norfolk, close to the Suffolk border which was  awarded 1st prize by the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England for its sympathetic and attractive upgrade and conversion to holiday accommodation.

About this Suffolk Cottage Holidays cottage:

Despite its age and occasional low beams it is a very family friendly holiday cottage and would make a wonderful base for summer holidays with children or for couples looking for space and beautiful surroundings. Featuring lead light windows, oak paneling and oak timbers throughout it is a fascinating cottage in which to stay - do take a look at the hall ceiling where you can view the original wattle and daub construction. The kitchen has everything you and your family will require for a week in the country, there is a spacious and very attractive living room with an charming mix of period furnishing, refectory table and door leading to the cottage garden.  A ground floor bedroom with large single 4' would work well for a single adult or two small children. Despite its historic lineage The Cottage has a straight staircase with a further two bedrooms,  (each of the bedrooms is named after one of Hales Hall's historical associations) and well equipped family bathroom.

The Grounds:

Roses, attractive shrubs and climbers surround the cottage. With its own private walled courtyard garden and further lawns with lovely views over undulating farmland, you can really enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside.  There is croquet on the communal lawn, a moat and the manicured gardens include some charming topiary and are surrounded by yew hedging and ancient brick walls.
