The area is very quiet. The upper bedroom is a mezzanine with roof windows which meant it was very light. There were small window sized openings in the wall on the stairs looking down into the twin bedroom - not appropriate with teenage girls. The house was very echoey and noise carried.

The quiet location suited us and we enjoyed being able to sit and relax in the garden. The house facilities were excellent as we catered for ourselves each evening. Nice walks around the village itself but also well placed for daily trips out and about.

A car is a must have as it’s location is in a remote village, which of course adds to it in my opinion. The owner seems like a lovely person and very approachable. Upon arrival the property was lovely and clean with a little welcome pack for tea and coffee. Within the property it really is open and spacious. We went in the height of summer so natural light in abundance. Good chance to reset your bodies natural sleeping pattern. There are slight signs of tiredness in the decor but nothing that would stop you having a great time in Frater House. We used it merely as a base to explore which worked really well for our family. So overall I would thoroughly recommend this property
