A charming red brick character cottage located behind a quiet side road on the fringes of the town, Basil Cottage is a real gem of a holiday retreat at any time of the year. Furnished in a comfortable contemporary style, this property also benefits from being centrally heated, meaning its delightfully cosy. Updated to include a smart new kitchen featuring modern appliances, guests are also presented with the choice of two sitting rooms, each with a television, a shower room on each floor, and two good-sized inviting bedrooms located upstairs. Hosting a double bed, the master bedroom has en suite access to the shower room. Twin beds are offered by bedroom two. Outside, the magnificent landscaped garden includes a patio dining area with outdoor seating. At the top of the garden, a pretty summer house invites guests to take a seat and relax over a coffee, or perhaps a carafe of wine. Circumvented by a stone wall and attractive woven fencing, the garden is fully enclosed, making it a safe place for supervised children to play. Parking is available on the lane close to the cottage.

Just a short level walk from the away, Staithe Street is the hub of this colourful seaside town, with a plethora of independent shops, including boutiques, cafes, eateries, delis and a butchers. The nearby picturesque Buttlands Green is surrounded by charming Georgian properties. Take a seat here to soak up the ambience, or pop into one of the two hotels that overlook the green to enjoy a drink or meal. Amble down to the quay to sample some of the best fish and chips in the area, or try your hand at gillying for crabs. From the quay, beautiful Wells beach is a mere fifteen minute walk away.
