Ideal for a couple’s romantic retreat or a writer looking for a rural retreat, this cosy lodge has been presented to a high standard throughout, making exceptional use of space, ensuring you have everything you need for your stay. On arrival you will get a real feel for the location, the lodge looks over the owners' beautifully kept garden which is a real suntrap and a haven for wildlife. Step into the open plan living area with a bed to your left, kitchen and dining area to your right and a comfortable sitting area making the most of the garden views between the two. Every small detail has been taken into account to make this property a fantastic place to stay in this wonderful location, which is excellent for walking, wildlife spotting and cycling. Neatishead has a real traditional village feel to it, pop to the shop and enjoy the morning paper with a coffee while planning your day, or enjoy a bite to eat in the nearby White Horse, a gastropub and micro-brewery. The village has its own staithe, allowing access to Barton Broad, a boating paradise with its clear, deep waters and a regatta in August. This broad can also be reached on foot via a broadwalk, which is also easily accessible by wheelchair, and will take you on a mysterious journey of discovery into a lost world. It has remained isolated for half a century and emerges to give a surprise panoramic view over Barton, the second largest of the broads. Another hidden gem close by is the secluded Alderfen Broad, here you can enjoy peace and tranquillity that is hard to match, while enjoying scenic walks. Also look out for a variety of rare bird species, otters and other wildlife. Bird watchers will especially enjoy the bird migration in the Autumn months. For those wanting a bit of adventure there is a local trust nearby offering a variety of boating opportunities. Once you have experienced this almost secret little broad you will revel in the fact that it's not more popular. Violet Lodge provides a base offering excellent access to the Norfolk Broads, North Norfolk coastline and a short drive from the historical city centre of Norwich; there is plenty to do here. Whether it’s a romantic getaway or someone just needing some time out to relax, this lodge is ideal whatever the time of the year and you will want to return again and again.

Neatishead is perfectly located for exploring the Norfolk Broads. The village has a well-stocked shop for essentials with a small café attached and there is also a pub. There is excellent access to Barton Broad, and there's excellent walking, cycling and sailing in the area.
