About this property

A beautifully presented period cottage situated in the picturesque village of Holme-next-the-Sea and within a few minutes walk of the beautiful North Norfolk Heritage Coast. The cottage has been modernised and renovated making it a real gem in this sought-after village.

Scalp Cottage (just in case you are wondering, a scalp is a beach sand formation!) is a single-storey chalet situated just minutes from the beach and saltmarsh at Holme-next-the-Sea. Hidden away off the private road leading to Holme Dunes Nature Reserve.

Scalp Cottage is one of three similar properties at the end of an un-made driveway. It has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one single (with trundle bed beneath), a family bathroom, sitting room with dining area and separate kitchen. This means the cottage can offer very flexible accommodation for both couples and families. Should you require the 'sleeping six' option, please request on booking.

The property welcomes dogs and the garden to the rear is completely enclosed and secure, so both children and dogs can play safely. This is a perfect spot for bird watching and relaxing in the peace and quiet.

Additional Information

Two well behaved dogs are welcome (small additional charge).

Please note, there is no starter pack (which includes tea, coffee, sugar and milk) or welcome hamper provided at this property.

Ideal for exploring North Norfolk. Situated by the coastal path. So many walks. The cottage is clean and comfortable with a lovely private, secure and secluded garden.

Wonderful location. We had the best holiday. A short walk to wonderful dog friendly beaches. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay with a lovely secluded garden. We had a excellent brunch at the beach cafe at Old Hunstanton. The Lodge at Old Hunstanton do good food and The White Horse in Holmes, all dog friendly.

Lovely cottage in a great location. I’m so glad we chose Scalp Cottage, we were pleasantly surprised by the space. Cottage was well equipped with a lovely big enclosed garden for the dogs, very clean & comfy. It’s in a great location for walking, about 10 mins to the sand dunes which lead to a lovely sandy quiet beach or in the opposite direction for the nature reserve. It’s a short walk into the village & the White Horse pub where we had a nice meal. Hunstanton is a 2 1/2 mile walk along the coastal path. It’s so peaceful at the cottage, perfect for a relaxing break, we will definitely be returning for future holidays.
