Heacham is a thriving coastal village with two superb sandy beaches, nominated north and south that actually face west, the sunsets here are world renowned and in the summer can go on for hours. The flat sands and calm waters are a magnet for fans of kite flying, kite surfing, jet skiing, windsurfing and other outdoor pursuits and with a wide bay of nearly 20 miles, there is room for everyone.  With plenty of local shops, pubs and restaurants, Heacham is also home to the famous Norfolk Lavender Farm, which includes a great Farm Shop showcasing local produce. Along the coast seek out Hunstanton and Old Hunstanton where the eye catching cliffs are a great spot for fossil hunting and rock pooling and local golf is available nearby. The rspb Reserves at Titchwell and Snettisham are close by and attract bird watchers year round but particularly in the autumn & winter months when many birds migrate to this part of Norfolk. Becoming known as the Royal coast, the Royal Estate at Sandringham, or a little further along the coast, Holkham Hall seat of the Earl of Leicester with its beautiful deer park are both well worth a days' outing when open.
