    A rural retreat with outstanding views across meadowland – great for spotting wildlife. Fantastic walks from the door and amenities within a mile.
    So much space surrounds The Granary - it stands in perfect rural seclusion, reached by its own tree-lined avenue, and is set on the edge of the owners’ sheep farm. It boasts a contemporary and calm interior design throughout, and the ground floor rooms are large and light-filled. Comfortably furnished and equipped, it makes a superb holiday venue for large families or groups. Large floor-to-ceiling windows (the length of the property) enable outstanding views to be enjoyed across meadowland. From the sofas or the huge dining table, guests can watch sheep grazing lazily in the fields, observe the wildlife on the busy farm pond, and spot the barn owls which hunt from ancient oaks. Guests can use the wall-size map of Norfolk to plan days out and about in the surrounding area.
    There are walks and signed trails to enjoy around the farm (with unfenced ponds). The spectacular unspoilt Norfolk coastline and traditional market towns of Swaffham, Ely and Kings Lynn, are within easy reach. Year-round there are activities and attractions for all ages including Gooderstone Water Gardens, Stowe Farm, Grimes Graves, Welney Nature Reserve, High Lodge Forest Adventure Park and Norfolk Cycle Way. There is a good cycling network of quiet lanes from the doorstep, and plenty of space to kick a ball, play cricket or practise frisbee skills. Shops, pubs and Oxburgh Hall (NT), 1 mile.

    "Beautifully converted farm building. Tastefully furnished and decorated with a lovely spacious open plan sitting/ dining/ kitchen. Outdoor areas scruffy with rickety cafe style chairs and folding table. What really lets The Granary down though are the bedrooms. The downstairs twin and ground floor wet room are of the standard you would expect however upstairs the bedrooms lack headroom and two of them are accessed by a small wobbly spiral staircase and lack privacy owing to them not having a door or being fully open to the reception room below. Another twin upstairs had no full height space at all and no opening window - hard to see how it could be classed as a habitable bedroom. Our six foot tall boys really struggled. We felt that the property was very over-priced given the bedroom accommodation. The upstairs bathrooms were tight and it wasn’t possible to stand up straight in the shower. All this could be classed as quirky and characterful had we not paid a five star rent for the week."

    "We had a brilliant 70 th Birthday celebratory long weekend in this lovely cottage . It is the ideal property for a large family group. It is very well equipped and, with the two seating areas and a large dining table gives everyone plenty of space. It was interesting to be on the farm and saw wildlife and wild flowers, I would thoroughly recommend this cottage."

    "A peaceful location, well situated to visit many places, comfortable and well kitted out with great hosts who live on the farm. A minor drawback is that you are entirely reliant on a car to reach anywhere, even the local pub as the narrow roads are not ideal for walking."

    "This was our 4th stay at The Granary and we were not disappointed. For a large group of 8 the accommodation is roomy, clean and comfortable. Each time we have stayed we have felt that small improvements have taken place and that the owners take pride in the quality of the accommodation. The owners are on hand if needed and very friendly but are not in evidence unless called upon."
