About this property

Acorn Cottage is a Grade II listed terraced cottage built from local ironstone, nestled within the peaceful rural village of Tealby, 3.5 miles from the bustling market town of Market Rasen, in Lincolnshire. This splendid property is ideally placed for exploring all the idyllic Lincolnshire Wolds have to offer and is perfect for a romantic getaway. Walk into this sympathetically refurbished cottage straight into the sitting room with dining area, where there is a comfortable sofa, a perfect place to snuggle up in front of the Smart TV with a glass of wine whilst being warmed by the electric woodburner-effect stove in the chiller months or watch the world go by from the window seat. The well-equipped kitchen comes complete with a lovely deep Butler sink; ideal for preparing a romantic meal to be enjoyed alfresco on a summer’s evening, as from here you can head outside to the lawned garden and patio area. After dinner, walk up the steep cottage stairs to the lovingly decorated double bedroom and bright and airy family bathroom. Nearby are the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, perfect for cycling and walking and for the thrill seekers amongst you Cadwell Park Racing Circuit and Market Rasen Racecourse are both within easy reach. Wildlife enthusiasts will love the stunning Donna Nook National Nature Reserve where every November and December grey seals give birth to their pups, a truly magical spectacle attracting visitors from all around. For those who enjoy the fascinating history of aviation, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Centre can be visited at RAF Coningsby and there is an aviation heritage centre at East Kirby. Less than an hours’ drive away is the market town of Horncastle, home to a lovely church and a selection of interesting antiques and bric-a-brac shops and the ancient city of Lincoln is also close by, offering lots to see including the imposing cathedral and an interesting castle as well as a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to choose from. A real gem, this charming cottage is perfect for a romantic break away in the lovely Lincolnshire countryside.

The small market town of Market Rasen is situated on the River Rase and offers Georgian architecture, shops, pubs and riverside walks. The city of Lincoln is within driving distance and has an 11th century castle, cathedral and a number of shops.
