About this property

Ivy House Barn is situated in the beautiful Lincolnshire village of Heckington. Located in a wonderful rural location, this is the perfect relaxing retreat for yourself and your other half. Tucked away in the grounds of the owner's property in the heart of the village, this cottage is accessed along a private gravelled drive which features a vast array of fragrant roses, clematis and lavender. French doors open into a heart-warming open-plan living room. The sitting area bursts with character and is enhanced by a high beamed ceiling and an exposed red brick feature wall along with the comfy sofas where you can sit back and relax with a good book or watch a film. Wander through into the stylish, well-equipped kitchen and prepare meals to serve at the dining table over a glass of wine. This floor is complete with a charming family shower room. A carpeted staircase takes you to a superb, open double bedroom, featuring exposed beams, a sumptious solid oak sleigh bed and even offers a comfortable sofa bed. When the sun emerges, why not treat yourself to an alfresco meal out on the private patio? Ivy House Barn rests on Heckington's High Street, the shops, swimming pool (open in the summer months only), cafes, pubs and bars are all just a short stroll away. Cyclists can ride for miles around the countryside directly from the barn. Perfect cycling terrain and lots of coffee shop stops to enjoy on the way! There's a gym across the road and the wonderful Windmill Shop - full of organic vegetables, local baking, local honey, jams and chutneys, flowers and gifts - is a must. Heckington is also home to the world's only working 8-sail windmill, which is certainly worth a visit as are the cafe and brewery attached. Lincolnshire, known as the Bomber County is the home of the RAF, with bases such as Cranwell, Coningsby (with its Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) and Waddington and Scampton (home to the Red Arrows) are all an easy drive away. Just 20 minutes away is the fascinating Bomber Command Memorial. Towns such as Boston, Spalding (famous for its tulips and Spring Gardens) and Grantham are nearby and benefit from a wide range of amenities and attractions. Stamford, Skegness and Newark are also worth a visit. The historic city of Lincoln is a 25-minute drive away and is a jewel in the county with the beautiful cathedral, the castle and the Magna Carta. There's a wharf, plenty of restaurants and attractions. Ivy House Barn is the perfect base for that romantic retreat you've been longing for.

A village placed in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire. Heckington hosts a Grade I listed church and a historic windmill. There is also a shop, pubs and bars, a swimming pool and two cafés. It also holds the Heckington Show each year. A wider range of amenities can be found in Boston and Grantham, whilst the city of Lincoln is further afield. The Lincolnshire Wolds aonb are also available.

The photos don't do the barn justice. It is perfect. Very comfortable and everything we needed. The owner Denise couldn't of been more helpful and nice. We will definitely be returning

A very comfortable and cosy little retreat, and it was just what I needed. The location was perfect for sightseeing, very near the highway, but still peaceful and quiet. Also I very much enjoyed the evening treat of a cup of tea and a piece of cake, thank you Denise
