Snaptrip says

Guests have had delightful stays at Castle View Lodge, praising its cleanliness, beautiful location, and comfortable furnishings. The working farm setting adds charm, and the presence of animals like horses enhances the experience. The lodge is well-equipped, and the hot tub is a much-loved feature. While some guests mentioned the lack of blinds or curtains in the bedrooms, this did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers consistently mention that the lodge is very clean and well-maintained, suggesting a high standard of cleanliness.

The lodge's location is frequently described as beautiful and peaceful, with proximity to attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

The lodge is generally found to be comfortable, with only minor suggestions for improvement such as larger beds and the addition of blinds or curtains to block out early morning light.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the hot tub. However, the repeated mention of missing blinds or curtains in the bedrooms indicates a slight need for maintenance in this area.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

We live in Dorset & were visiting friends & family in the Staffordshire /Derbyshire area & watching racing at Donnington Park. Perfectly situated to explore the area & retire in the evening in the hot tub watching the cows, ponies, donkey & birds. It is a working farm so expect the usual smells etc....On arrival I spotted a rather large bull in the field... I was a little nervous... until I saw the cattle grid separating us!! ha ha.. Nearby village has a co op & great fish n chip shop. The owners had supplied everything for a home from home vacation.

My only gripe was no blinds in the skylights in the bedrooms, so as soon as it came light it wakes you up. Lovely place though and I would recommend it, and I would definitely go again.

The lodge and the location were beautiful, and watching the family work on the farm was fascinating. My daughter fell in love with Lula the horse who would greet us every morning from the nearby field, and she misses her loads already. The perfect base that is only a short drive away from so many great destinations including Calke Abbey, Elvaston Castle, Alton Towers and the Stepping Stones at the Peak District, I would highly recommend this to anyone.
