About this property

Woodhall Spa 3 miles.

Bainside Holiday Lodge is a cosy retreat on the edge of Kirkby on Bain near Woodhall Spa, in the grounds of Bainside Fishery, a popular coarse fishing and Caravan Club CL location in the foothills of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing home cooked delights; alternatively the 16 century village inn next door offers a great menu which is so popular guests are advised to book in advance. The patio offers an opportunity to catch the setting sun before retiring to one of the comfy bedrooms; with one double bed and a twin where the beds can be bolted together to make a sumptuous super king-size double, you will be guaranteed a good night's sleep. There is a coarse fishing lake 80 yards from the property available for use by arrangement with the owner. Lincolnshire is one of the largest food producing counties in the UK and you'll be spoilt for choice. The county offers superb restaurants, local bistros, pubs and delicatessens. Skegness is an easy 40 minute drive if you fancy that great British tradition; fish and chips! Lincolnshire's wide skies are rich in aviation history, being home to the world-famous 617 Squadron The Dambusters, and the amazing Red Arrows. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre is just down the road at RAF Coningsby. The vibrant city of Lincoln is around 20 miles from the lodge, and with a packed programme of events throughout the year there is something for everyone.

Woodhall Spa is a leafy little village in the foothills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Once considered an 'Inland Resort', it is the home of the English Golf Union and has two outstanding golf courses, plus plenty of interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a heated open air swimming pool and a range of sports and leisure facilities, woodland walks, a children's play area, and even a small, quirky cinema. The town of Horncastle, a major antiques centre, is just 6 miles away, and Tattershall Lakes Country Park is ideal for fishing and with an array of watersports, is just a 10 minute drive away. The Roman city of Lincoln is only 20 miles away, and the East coast a leisurely 35 minute drive. There are some great cycle routes nearby or you can just relax in an idyllic country village environment.

WiFi was poor, unable to connect all week. Didn't spoil our week and owners were very friendly. Lovely site, especially if you enjoy fishing. Nice and peaceful, lovely to hear birdsong in the mornings.

Plastic.cardboard by end of week we had to leave rubbish aside then I ended up seeing maggots due to fly's council give dustbins if ring up apart from that all was good Plus on Sykes web site it said hottub but there wasn't one they got rid of it this is false advertising

Beds very comfy. Would be good to be able to close garden off as dog had to be on a lead when we had door open. Really good lake for fishing. Owners very obliging. Had really good meal at pub next door although opening times a bit limited. No other shops or cafes, had to drive to get anywhere. Plenty of public footpaths to walk the dog.
