About this property

Grange Farm Barns is a wonderful cottage nestled in Baumber countryside, on the fringes of Lincolnshire Wolds AONB. With a large gravelled driveway and private parking for 2 cars, this cottage is ideal for families and friends looking to explore a varied region of walking and sightseeing. Step into the porch, which boasts wooden flooring sweeping across to the open-plan living area, and access to the shower room opposite. Feel instantly at home with solid oak doors, plush carpet in the bedrooms and beautiful linens creating a stylish feel. The kitchen is well equipped with modern, integrated units and a fabulous range cooker taking centre stage. The colour schemes are elevated by stylish spotlights and beamed ceilings add character. Relax on the plush sofas in the lounge and dine together at mealtimes in the sociable dining space. Dual-aspect windows flood the interior with light, and just off from the living room is the utility, housing a washing machine and access for the dog to nip out for some fresh air, in the enclosed patio area. A family room completes this delightful setup with a double and single bed, which is a trundle bed so can become a double, for three guests, polished to a high standard of quality. This excellent location finds you close to the many old Georgian market towns of Horncastle, Spilsby, Louth and Lincoln, with many cycle route, footpaths and nature reserves in easy reach. Your nearest pub is in Hemingby, The Coach and Horses, offering delicious food and drink. However, Horncastle has further pubs, cafés and restaurants. Take a morning out to discover the imposing castle and cathedral at Lincoln, followed by an afternoon of shopping about the town. Cadwell Park is situated on the way to Louth, ideal for motorsports enthusiasts, with events and race days throughout the year. A fantastic location for exploring, with a charming cottage as a base.

Hemingby is located in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, just north of Horncastle. The village Coach and Horses pub is a former coaching inn on the old Louth to Lincoln route and now serves a range of bar meals and homemade dishes, as well as a good selection of real ales. Nearby, in the small village of Bauber is The Walled Garden, a nineteenth-century, innovative and exciting garden full of hidden surprises. Horncastle boasts antique shops, pubs, tea rooms, cafes and restaurants, and lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cobbled streets of Lincoln pave the way to discover its medieval cathedral, castle, museum and many shopping opportunities.

Property was in immaculate condition. Gardens were very well presented. Quite near a main road but traffic noise was not an issue even when sitting outside.

My only reservation, having to vacate the property by 9.00am on the day of departure is very tight. With an elderly guest with mobility difficulties it meant a very early get up and having to forego breakfast in order to depart by the expected time. All places I have stayed in the past have been either 10 or 11 departure time.

We enjoyed the comfort and the layout of the property was great for us. We enjoyed exploring Woodhall Spa and Louth and a great visit to Donna Nook to see the seals.
