Very nicely situated with easy access to local amenities. We would love to have a return stay before too long.

Comfortable bed and a great hot shower but felt a couple of things could do with improvement. The settee and some downstairs furnishings were past their best and stained so the cottage was not as clean and fresh as the pictures show. A few logs were left in the basket but not nearly enough for four nights in February. Luckily we brought some with us, along with other "essentials" after reading a previous review. The door lock was a bit tricky sometimes and we could have done with two keys as we could not lock the door if the other person went out. Despite staying in many places, our dog would not settle here for some reason. This meant walks during the night and why another key would have been handy. Obviously that is beyond the owners control but it was unusual and meant we returned home a day early.

This really needs to be highlighted. The empty cleaning spray bottle left in the kitchen and utter lack of anything that we’ve always found as “standard” (a pint of milk perhaps, kitchen roll any fuel at all for the wood burner,I could go on) was noticeable. The sofa is dreadful WAY past it’s best. The bathroom is lovely and the bed comfortable however
