We booked a 'Bronze' lodge which was really nice and clean and fully equipped. We did have a problem with the decking outside. It was obviously quote rotten and should have been replaced before any guests arrived. The furniture on the balcony was also very tatty. We tried to avoid the gaping holes and 'dangerous' areas of the decking when we sat outside but I managed to fall down one of the holes in my chair one evening and hurt my back! We didn't make a fuss but I feel it should have been sorted before any guests used the area. Reception were very good and had a maintenance man on the spot very quickly to assess the situation. They weren't able to repair it before we left They did offer to move us but we only had one day left so it wasn't worth it.I'm afraid we found the staff in the Water's Edge Restaurant needed a bit more training in customer service. No one seemed to know what they were doing when we arrived. The food was very ordinary for the money so we only ate in the restaurant only once in the week we were there. A great position for having a drink in the evening overlooking the lake though.A bit out of the way (which we knew about) for things to do but on average about a 30 minute drive to Windermere and surrounding areas for lots to do.All in all we enjoyed it.

Should of been informed it belonged to a private owner, as was very cluttered with their belongings

My only negative is the lodge we stayed in had no WiFi in it. On the website it indicated WiFi available at extra cost which I was happy to pay for. The staff were helpful in trying to give us access to WiFi in other ways but unfortunately that didn't work. I think it would be helpful to advise if accommodation does not have WiFi access or to have a request option for a WiFi lodge when booking
