For watersports enthusiasts, the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola’, or visit Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin. Nearby attractions include the award-winning village of Hawkshead, home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery, Tarn Hows, one of the most visited beauty spots in the country and Esthwaite Water, famous for its fishing. Welcome treats were much appreciated. Views over Coniston from cottage are beautiful and lovely to wake up to every morning First time we have stayed in Coniston and it did not disappoint Hopefully we will be back

Exceptionally clean throughout, cosy and comfortable. It had great views over Coniston and was ideally placed for great walks to some of our favourite places. We didnât use our car all week! We would definitely pay this cottage another visit.
