" Beds were so comfy We didn't use the dishwasher but everything else was used. There were 4 of us me my daughter, son-in-law and my 19yr old granddaughter who found nothing to complain about Wifi was spot on (thank goodness). We all said we would come back next year Thankyou for the treats was not expecting them . "

" The living room, kitchen and bathroom on the bottom floor (basement) were cold and had a smell of damp, even with the heating on they never warmed up as well as the rest of the house. Beds were hard and some what uncomfortable. House is in a great location to explore Windermere. "

" Located at the center with shops and restaurants round the corner. The house provided us all the necessities and comfort. It was really a home away from home. I thank the owner of the property for arranging everything a family would need during a holiday. We enjoyed every moment. I would recommend this property to all my friends visiting Windermere. "

" It was so central for shops, restaurants and everything and the weather was great. Situated in a lovely quiet corner. "

" ..only down points are the yard that is in dire need of a clean up inc the furniture and general decor that is ready for a redecoration. That said it is certainly worth a stay. "
    Mrs Harrison ‐ 1 Apr 2019
" It is near the shops, yet in a really quiet street. Railway station and bus stop are only a short walk away. There are a lot of stairs, with the kitchen being in the basement, but it kept us fit. The beds are super comfortable. Having a Smart TV while on holiday is useful for catch up. We were able to walk to the lake shore by two routes with gardens, woods and a waterfall. Highly recommended cottage!!! "

"Free parking permit is good too although parking is a nightmare. Everything you need is on the doorstep and within walking distance. Very dog friendly."
    Mrs Macpherson ‐ 1 Aug 2018
"We had a lovely holiday, there are plenty of shops and restaurants within a two minute walk from the house and easy to walk into Ambleside and the surrounding areas. Dizzy Duck was clean enough, and our three children seemed happy - always a bonus! However the only thing I would warn anyone looking to book is that parking is horrendous. Yes, you get a parking permit but what you should know is parking is only available on one side of the street so is extremely limited. Every day we would come home and really struggle to get parked. We decided each day if we could walk it we would (not always an easy choice with an eight year old when you are walking miles and miles). One evening my husband sat in the car for over an hour as if you don’t get parked the only option is to park on a double yellow or dump your car streets away. He waited in the car as when we pulled up we noticed one of the neighbours was about to leave but as soon as this person saw my husband waiting decided to get back out of his car and go back in his house"

"There was no oven glove -- important for self catering! Some of the springs in one settee had gone and was a bit uncomfortable. A larger washing airer would be useful as the small one given is not enough for a family's washing esp if there are children. It might not always be possible to dry washing on the small line outside. The beds were very comfy, but fitted sheets would be better It was a bit difficult for 4 people to sit round the table and have room to move, if 5 were there, as the house can sleep, it would I think be very awkward. However, we were lucky to get parked in the street and the location was excellent right in the heart of the town, so close to shops for groceries and treats like icecream! We had a good holiday at Dizzy Duck."

"We were unfamiliar with the locking mechanism but after "playing with it" we determined the next day how to do it. The long-sought after instruction book was found in the ground floor living room way back under the stairs 3 days after arriving (it should be on the table in the arrival hall in the future or an agent meet us to explain things) Negatives: oven doesn't work; no sharp knives; too few wine glasses (we bought more and left them);no hair dryer; no dishwasher soap (bought a full box and left it); no washing machine soap (bought some and left balance); downstairs electric fireplace heater doesn't work; steep stairs not suitable for seniors; after paying top in- season prices, it would be reasonable to expect clean towels midway through our 9 day stay but none were received. Positives: clean, quiet, convenient to all town shops, restaurants & points of interest. Excellent fridge and freezer. Comfortable beds, bathrooms, and living rooms."

"For the most part everything was fine, just a few minor points which would improve things for others. There was no oven glove -- important for self catering! "The cottage was great , ideally located and good for four people. Free parking permit is good too although parking is a nightmare. Everything you need is on the doorstep and within walking distance. Very dog friendly."
    - Mrs Bardsley, May 2018
"It’s location was ideal but parking was horrendous and only one parking permit was available when the literature said two would be available. Whilst the cottage was nice, the location of the main lounge and kitchen being on the lower ground was not good. There was a feeling of damp and even on hot days (we had excellent weather) we had to dress for winter in the evening as the lounge was ridiculously cold. If the heating was used the rest of the house was oppressively hot. The fire failed to heat the lounge and overall this really spoilt our overall experience of the cottage."
    - Ms Fine, June 2018
"The bedrooms were all a good size , had lots of storage and comfy beds Parking is a bit challenging after 6 pm and we were only able to park outside twice so be prepared to drop people off ,find a parking space and walk back . The lounge on the lower ground floor was cool but soon warmed up when the fire was on . It’s a shame that the 2 seater sofa isn’t very comfortable as it’s a good communal area . We struggled a bit with the number of steps inside the property- there are 2 steep staircases ..12 steps to the lower ground floor and 12 steps to the first floor . One slightly disappointing feature was the outside space - it was good to have but it gets no sun and it isn’t very pleasant to sit out as the communal bins attract a lot of flies ( but this may have been due to the exceptionally hot weather ) ."
