A short climb up Orrest Head, the first Lakeland summit to be visited by Alfred Wainwright, offers stunning views taking in the length of Lake Windermere and surrounding fells. Popular walks over School Knott and The Dales Way are also accessible from the doorstep. Lake Windermere is only a mile away, here you can enjoy lakeshore picnics at Miller Ground, spend the day aboard a steamer or take a ferry trip across to Sawrey and visit Hillside the former home of Beatrix Potter.
Oakmere is a traditional Lakeland stone, mid terrace, three story cottage which provides a welcoming, modern holiday home feel with carefully chosen furniture and characterful wooden floors. The lower ground floor dining room leads out on to an enclosed paved patio area which is ideal for sitting and enjoy a well earned glass of wine after a long day on the fells.

Miller family
Hi not happy at all house is in need of a big overhaul it's need some tender loving care. Ceilings been leaking, very cold as if the heating had not been on for a long time. Washing machine dryer didn't work , no lights bulbs in some if the lights and ones that were there were dull. Decoration very grubby , all cups chipped. In living room not enough comfortable seating it a house for 5 people and 5 people can not comfortably sit in this room and smaller chairs really uncomfortable. Toilet door bolt kept cutting our hands. We just didn't enjoy our stay here went home early, great location but just not a nice house to stay we stay a lot in the lakes and this was a great disappointment to us.
