Visitcumbria.com/amb/brockhole/?utm_content=cmp-true and both Ambleside and Windermere/ Bowness within walking distance. Great bus route with a bus stop also on the doorstep. Accommodation was excellent and what’s not to like about a jacuzzi after a long day walking! Would have been clean sweep on scores but found the bed a little too soft for my dodgy back. Would certainly choose 2 Merewood Cottage for our next trip to the Lakes.

Cottage is in a good position, well back from the main road and close to Windermere and Ambleside. The kitchen has all you need for the week, lounge is very comfortable and we loved the bird feeder by the window for the frequent blue tit visitors. Bedroom and bed was comfortable. The only slight niggle was the upstairs ensuite/wet room wasn't really usable for showering as so small and the owner recommended using the shower in the downstairs bathroom but this room was cold and only a window for ventilation so smelt a little damp. However, we really enjoyed staying at the cottage. Thank you to the owner for the small gifts that she left for us.

Newly decorated and extra garden seating provided. Plenty of storage throughout and loved the jacuzzi! A traditional two seater sofa would be more cosy for a couple.
