Walking distance to Windermere and Bowness with all their fabulous amenities, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops. Lovely big house, 9 people, a baby and dogs and we had plenty of space. Great kitchen, well stocked and a lovely big oven and hob. Great WiFi. On the downside..... The lounge furniture was so uncomfortable. The springs had gone in both sofas so once you sat down you are practically on the floor and can't get up. So we couldn't really relax together at night. They desperately need replacing. The bunk beds are too small, okay for very small children but any older and they're not practical. One of the single beds was listing, felt like I would roll out. Garden not as shown in the listing. It's been shortened to allow for more parking.....a good thing but we had two dogs so needed that space more. The 'lean to' conservatory was rough and ready, not practical and grubby but okay to sleep the dogs. However, the good stuff far outweighs the bad, so we would definitely go back BUT, those SOFAS need replacing.

Our family throughly enjoyed our time here.

Upon arrival we found hairs in each shower tray, a dead fly in the top floor bath, tooth paste down the top floor sink, undusted skirting boards and prepared food from a previous guest still in the freezer. It really wasn’t what we expected for the price we paid for three nights away £1200! The blinds in the living room and first floor front bedroom didn’t work properly and some lamps didn’t work. More care and attention from both a cleaning and maintenance point of view is needed. This house could be amazing but the cleanliness let it down and did affect our stay and perception of booking with Sykes again.
