Snaptrip says

Acorn Cottage in Windermere is highly praised for its stunning location, peaceful environment, and modern comforts. Guests enjoy the wildlife views from the hot tub and balcony, and appreciate the property's cleanliness and well-equipped facilities. While some mention the proximity to other cottages and the open-plan layout, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, describing it as spotless and well-maintained. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience at Acorn Cottage.

The cottage's location is frequently highlighted for its beautiful views and proximity to Bowness. While the walk into town is noted as arduous for some, the peaceful setting and abundant wildlife are greatly valued. The location offers a balance of seclusion and accessibility to local attractions.

Comfort is a strong point for Acorn Cottage, with guests finding the bed and sofa very comfortable. However, some guests mention the lack of privacy due to the open-plan design and the low partition wall near the toilet, which slightly affects the comfort score.

The facilities, including the hot tub, kitchen appliances, and outdoor seating, are generally well-received. However, some guests suggest improvements such as additional comfortable chairs and coat hooks, and a few mention issues with TV reception and Wi-Fi reliability.

Many guests express appreciation for the thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts and local information provided. While these gestures enhance the experience, it is noted that such extras are subject to change and not guaranteed for every stay.

The view from the balcony and hot tub were beautiful. Few little welcome gifts which was a lovely touch! I was emailed by the manager on the day of arrival to tell us our accommodation had been cleaned and was available earlier for us to check in which was a bonus! It took 20-25 mins to walk into Bowness, nice easy walk down hill, the initial part was walking on the road but not particularly busy, then paths most of the way. I wouldn’t risk walking in the dark so we got a taxi back on 2 occasions costing £4 which we thought was a bargain! Would definitely recommend staying here and return however noticed to rebook next year cost significantly more which is a shame!

Our Cottage was very clean and we loved the jacuzzi! Only feedback is The Acorn Cottage it's not for light sleepers, any snoring will be heard throughout the cottage. This wasn't a problem for us and we wouldn't personally change anything but it's worth noting.

From the hot tub you have a fantastic view of the hills and fields full of sheep. We’ve seen birds of prey, pheasants and partridges. The outdoor seating area is a sun trap, a real benefit when it starts to get cold. Parking right next to the property was a real bonus. We loved our holiday.
