About this property

A charming single-storey lodge, accessed via three steps, in a rural Lake District location. This lovely holiday home has an open plan living area with a gas stove, along with two bedrooms and a bathroom. There’s a number of places to visit in the area, including the towns of Windermere and Kendal, as well as Sizergh Castle and a number of excellent walking routes. Kendal is an historic Lakeland town set on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town.

If you like peace and quiet, and nature then this is for you.Great for hikers and twitchers. If you need restaurants and shops on your doorstep, I'd look elsewhere. Two lodges set on a sheep farm, one faces North and one South. The lodge is adequately furnished with pretty much everything you should need although could do with one or two things modernised to bring it up to todays standards. Mattresses on single beds aren't ideal especially for adults plus the beds creak but as a base it worked fine.

Lots to do in the surrounding area, fabulous location for site seeing and finding out about the local history. Would definitely recommend and would love to return!
