Coopers Cottage is the perfect terraced holiday home for visiting the Lakes. It is perfectly situated near to the main road for getting out and about but far enough away that you hear nothing but the wind in the trees and the birds singing. The cottage has been beautifully restored to a good standard making your stay comfortable. With the multi-fuel burner in the living area and the underfloor heating, you can be toasty warm on those cold winters’ evenings and in the summer you can sit out on the patio offering generous views and access to the paddock. The cottage was once a thriving gunpowder works dating back to 1798 and part of Low Wood Mill gunpowder works located on the estuary with access to the sea, now only the cottages and the clock tower survives today as a reminder of the past. Beach 5 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 530 yards.

"The cottage was really lovely , very cosy and had everything we needed."

"We had a lovely stay at Coopers Cottage- ideal for couples who want to get away from it all. Some beautiful walks and stunning views close by. Nearest pub is a (lovely) 0.4 mile walk away. We visited Cartmel- worth a visit for the pubs, restaurants and shops. The cottage itself is absolutely spotless, nicely decorated and toasty warm! The log burner is a lovely. Sarah provided little welcome hamper of goodies- which was a lovely touch. Things to know before you go: the nearest shop is a drive away- it's a garage but it's very well stocked. We bought everything before we left home. The nearest town is Ulverston if you want to do a 'big' shop (about 6 miles away). You will need to take the essentials with you such as shower gel. Tea and coffee are provided- we are prolific tea drinkers so brought more with us. Definitely advise bringing walking shoes/wellies and torches if you are venturing out after dusk."

"Cosy, clean property. Comfortable beds. TV and wifi were good. Underfloor heating is lovely. We couldn’t find tablemats/tablecloth so bought a tablecloth (Christmas stay) and dessert dishes would have been nice. There was just a basic supply of crockery, glasses and cutlery, but these are minor issues. A very enjoyable, relaxing stay."

"A lovely clean cottage. Garden was fantastic for the dog! The log burner was really cosy, great shower and comfy beds. It was a little far out for us as we had to drive to windermere and higher each day to see the parts of the lake district we wanted which took a long time. Although well equipped, a few more extras like hand soap, washing tabs, oil, tea, coffee, milk for arrival, cleaning products (basics) would have helped as we had to buy absolutely everything!"

"Super cottage highly recommend will certainly be booking again"
    Helen ‐ 3 Oct 2019
"Coopers Cottage is a lovely place to stay and very well equipped. It has been decorated very nicely and the beds are comfortable. There is a patio which gets the afternoon sunshine and a little garden down 9 steps. Beyond is the Paddock for run-arounds. Unfortunately we had a fair amount of rain so Molly didn't go in the paddock but was happy in the garden. There are some good walks around Low Wood and Haverthwaite for dogs and four-legged friends!"

"Even though we only stayed the one night due to a family problem the owners made sure everything was right nice little welcome package we will definitely be booking again next year hopefully to have the full week only one minor problem wich has nothing to do with the cottage or owners the neighbours have cats the missus dont like cats"

"From the beautiful location to the well equipped and immaculately clean interior the cottage was fab. This was a great weekend break. The cottage had everything we needed for our break. Well done Sarah. Would have no issues in recommending Cooper's Cottage to anyone and hopefully would love to revisit in the future."
    Paul ‐ 30 Jul 2019
"Great little cottage and location, on arrival there was a welcome pack, nice touch by Sarah the owner. We stayed 4 nights in July with our two little dogs and enjoyed some great walks and lovely pubs with some fantastic food. The only issue it was over to quickly, I would highly recommend and would certainly stay again."
    Claire ‐ 15 Jul 2019
"Beautiful cottage, although a little remote. However that’s fine if like us you want a relaxing weekend. Pet friendly, lots of local sites and places of interest to visit. Would definitely recommend."
    Sally ‐ 30 Jun 2019
"The cottage was lovely however the beds where extremely small and uncomfortable (we are not particularly tall or wide either). Unfortunately after 2 nights of poor sleep we cut our break short and came home."
    Karla ‐ 15 May 2019
"Absolute perfect little cottage, nicely decorated with small touches such as blankets to keep warm, dog towels and eggs on arrival. Our host contacted us to see if we had settled in, communication before was easy and quick. I would recommend Coopers Cottage to anyone"
    Tracey ‐ 3 May 2019
"Absolutely beautiful cottage would certainly recommend to anyone. You do need to travel for supplies and to see sights but lots of lovely walks on the doorstep."

"A lovely cosy cottage. Clean and well equipped. We would definitely use again.Just two points to consider. The cottage allows dogs. We kept ours in the utility area when we returned from walks, etc as we did not want to make unecessary mess, a child gate might be useful here, or at foot of stairs. Also in the garden the dog could easily get into the neighbours garden, so some further fencing at side is suggested. The garden was still being developed when we stayed. The neighbour has dogs too. There is a local pub which is welcoming and recommended but we wouldn’t walk to it as no path and very dark road."

"An oasis of calm; small but perfectly formed.A beautiful cottage off the beaten track, delightfully decorated. Many homely touches.Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The under floor heating was unexpected but wonderful. The shower is fabulous and the bedrooms are relaxing and peaceful.Just outside the window there is a fabulous bank of snowdrops and the feeding station ensures a constant stream of beautiful birds which we found mesmerising. The spring bulbs are just peeping out of the beds and planters and are full of promise.Sarah was very accommodating at extremely short notice after another cottage let us down. We had fresh eggs, milk and cookies.Thank you for a wonderful stay, we highly recommend this cottage."
