Drake Cottage has fabulous views over spectacular countryside. This adjoining holiday barn conversion, renovated with superb comfort and style, including 100% cotton bed linen and towels, lies adjacent to the owner’s working farm. Drake Cottage is a perfect location for family holidays, from the elderly to youngsters, there is something for everybody, with endless outdoor activities on site and an abundance of local amenities close by. In Biggar, the local market town situated 4 miles away, there are museums, world famous puppets, excellent boutique shops, award-winning ice cream for sale and several food outlets. For the active visitor, nearby you will find cycling, walking, riding, tennis courts, boating and children’s play parks. The cottage is ideally placed to tour the border towns, Dumfries and Galloway, Edinburgh which is only 32 miles away and Glasgow, an easy 37 mile journey up the M74. The World Heritage Site of New Lanark is a great day out and there are numerous castles and gardens close by. Shops 4 miles.. Having been to duck cottage next door although drake is bigger the cottage was in need of a clean. Had not been used in 2 months and the beds were clean but the rest was dusty and the rug in the lounge underneath was badly dirty, on the advert it stated free wifi, there was no wifi and having spoken to the owner was assured it would be sorted however unfortunately it was not so left early as the weather was awful so couldn't even go out and no wifi or freeview tv it was like back in the 70s, not the best review but honest review, the cottage next door was far better in our opinion but just our opinion.

Excellent cottage- very spacious and well laid out. Remote location but Biggar only 10 minute drive away which has some welcoming cafes.Good for hill walking and cross country dog walkers.Thoroughly enjoyed our week here.

Our 2nd visit to this beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the world. I’m obviously biased as we used to live in this area but don’t take my word for it go see for yourself. The cottage is immaculate and the owner is such a lovely person. Shortbread on the table waiting for you and a great log fire. This cottage has everything that you need. The nearby town of Biggar has some great shops and the best steak pies you’ll ever taste from Ovens the butcher. We will be back again for a third visit.
