The extensive view over Windermere is captivating! Satter Knotts has been the perfect place for holidays, for families or groups of friends, for 40 years. It has undergone a major refurbishment including an elegant new kitchen and bathroom. Standing high on the west side of the Lake, overlooking the water, with a separate jetty and lake frontage a walk down the hillside it is in a fantastic location.
Looking out from the drawing room or kitchen/dining room, or on the terrace, or in the large garden, the light on the Lake and opposite hillside is always fascinating. The house stands in an acre of grounds, largely rough grass and wood, with a flat lawn (perfect for games) joining the terrace.The main entrance opens onto a hall. In front is the spacious modern kitchen/dining room which is very well equipped. It has built in dishwasher, fridge and freezer, electric hob, double oven and microwave. There is plenty of room for 8 around the dining table. This opens out onto the terrace, perfect for alfresco meals or BBQs. To the left is the large living room, with very comfortable sofas and chairs. This has a stone open hearth fire with oak lintel, TV (with Sky freeview), DVD, and video and of course the most stunning view of Lake Windermere. There are three small bedrooms on this level, two singles and a twin, and a shower/bathroom and separate WC.
Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin, and a second stylish bathroom. This makes it perfect for two families.
Downstairs in the garage below there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, another fridge, and plenty of space to hang wet clothes around the boiler room, and store bikes. There is plenty of parking up the tarmac drive.
Your boat can be moored at the jetty if required, but do ask for further details if you intend to put a boat on the lake.

What a lovely house and a fantastic view over Lake Windermere this is a view that you would never tire of. The house was very warm even on the coldest of days. Everything that you needed was available. There were 8 people a baby and a dog in our party and the house is so big we were almost lost in it. We had a lovely log fire at night while watching the glimmering lights on the other side of the lake from the large picture window on the lounge. We had deer and peacocks visiting in the large garden. The nearest pub is the Cuckoo brow in serving real ale and some very good food. All in all a fantastic relaxing week and will be visiting again.

Satter Knotts was everything we were looking for. Amazing view, quiet location, large garden, detached property, lots of private parking. We stayed the week before Christmas. It was a very warm and comfortable property. Some areas have been recently refurbished; the carpets were pretty new too. Other areas will obviously be updated in the future but when fully refurbished it may be out of our price range. It was nice and clean, the showers were good and the kitchen had a good variety of equipment. The view at night to the other side of the lake and the lights was lovely. The lake feels so much closer than the photographs on the website can show. Satter Knott is definitely on our list to revisit. It is the first time we have used Lakeland Hideaways and we were very happy with them.

What a View ! We had a wonderful 4 day break, this house is very comfortable and spacious in the living areas, the bed rooms are a bit small. but who cares, it has every thing you would need on holiday, you have room to spread out, you could lose 6-8 people in this house easily , we only had 4 , it was heaven and the view is to die for. not only that the visiting wild life was an added bonus, three deer and four sheep and birds galore. we would love to stay here again
