About this property

Nestled in the quaint Welsh town of Aberaeron in Ceredigion, Wales is this charming, two-bedroom semi-detached cottage, Melbourne House. Enjoying a fabulous central location with easy access to the local amenities, as well as the beautiful pebbled Aberaeron beach, Melbourne House makes for an idyllic dwelling for couples or a family of four who are looking to explore this beautiful part of Wales. Be welcomed into the living/dining room, where you can look forward to curling up on the plush sofa in front of your favourite film on the TV, as the woodburning stove crackles nearby. As you start to feel peckish, make your way into the kitchen to rustle up flavourful culinary delights for your loved ones, with the help of the electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. Settle down to savour a delicious meal at the dining table for four, or if the weather is nice, why not dine alfresco out on your very own private patio? Wash away the day with a refreshing shower, before climbing the stairs to the first floor, where you will find two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with plenty of storage for your belongings. Take advantage of your central location, where you will find a good selection of pubs and restaurants just a stone’s throw away, where you can treat your guests to a meal out and yourself to a night off from the kitchen! Wander through the town which is speckled with multi-coloured houses and delightful gift shops where you can pick up a souvenir to remember your trip by! Head down to the beach where you can soak up the beautiful sunsets, beach combe the shores or tuck-in to fresh fish and chips as you explore. If you’re looking to get out on the waters, why not try your hand at one of the excellent selections of watersports on offer, including sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding, and for those who are after something more leisurely, boat trips where you can sit and watch the world go by. Next stop is the bustling town of Lampeter, where you can brush up your local history at the Lampeter Museum, tour the delights of The Welsh Quilt Centre or enjoy a peaceful walk along the Afon Teifi. Further afield you will find the scenic Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park), where you can embark on a plethora of picturesque walks, discover market towns and fascinating heritage sites or embark up the impressive Pen Y Fan. Be sure to check out Aberystwyth, home to a glorious beach and the fantastic Vale of Rheidol Railway offering a 12-mile-long ride through the rolling hills and woodlands. For an unforgettable stay in Mid-Wales, look no further than Melbourne House.

Between Cardigan and Aberystwyth, this charming Georgian seaside town boasts an idyllic beach with fine sand and stunning views of the surrounding coastline. You may buy for unique souvenirs, eat at some of the area's best restaurants, and watch the boats go by from a secluded harbour. In Aberaeron you may enjoy boat tours, water sports, coastal and countryside hikes, and bike rides. To the south, Cardigan and Aberystwyth provide more shopping, artisan centres, museums and cinema or theatre visits. It's a great place to visit all year round in Mid Wales.

Fantastic! Will definitely be booking it again.

Personal circumstances forced us to cut our stay short but this is a lovely cottage in a great location.

The only thing would be that it is close to the main street and heavy traffic loud starting at 5am. When we booked we thought from the photo that the cottage might have been overlooking the marina. However everything else was fine.
