Snaptrip says

Hilltop is a well-received cottage in Cumbria, praised for its stunning location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the peaceful surroundings, scenic walks, and the cosy atmosphere with an open fire. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the responsive staff and the property's overall charm contribute to a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently mention the cleanliness of the cottage, with one reviewer highlighting it as spotless and well-equipped. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.

The location is frequently described as wonderful, idyllic, and peaceful, with beautiful views and proximity to walks and nature. The quiet and secluded setting near Windermere is a highlight for many guests.

The cottage is generally regarded as comfortable and cosy, with spacious rooms and an open fire. However, some guests mention issues with beds and noise affecting sleep quality, slightly lowering the score.

Facilities are good overall, but some maintenance issues like lock difficulties, outdated kitchenware, and a lack of modern amenities such as efficient TV and WiFi are noted. The staff's prompt response to requests mitigates these concerns.

While there are positive comments about the staff's responsiveness and a mention of a welcome hamper, there is insufficient information to assess the consistency of thoughtful gestures such as gifts. Therefore, this score is set to null.

It is a beautiful property with a genuinely breathtaking view of Windermere, we felt like we were miles away from civilisation, which is exactly what we were aiming for. Would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Swimming pool v handy and eco hot tub is relaxing. Only issue is there is NO WiFi despite it being advertised and the TV did not really work v well either. Could be seen as a positive but not if you have teenagers v keen to engage with friends while away!

A few things need updating. It was difficult to work the television and we even brought our own Apple TV but the set was so old we couldn’t connect it. It was difficult to find channels that worked and, sometimes, to find any channels at all. The house needs a new bottle opener and it would be great to be provided with kitchen spray and cooking oil but we’ll bring our own next time. A special mention for Tim at Graythwaite adventure - a highlight (of many) of our trip was the RIB tour of the lake. We also loved having access to the swimming pool and our oldest son actually learned to swim there. The house was brilliantly clean when we arrived and we had a fab time so thank you. We’ll be back!
