"The cottage is immaculate and the owners show a real attention to detail. Everything you’d need in the kitchen utensil wise is there. Plus cleaning products and also tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper. As other reviews have said, there are a number of signs up re dogs, bits of advice etc. Please don’t be put off by these, we have a big dog and it’s basic hygiene not to allow them on the beds so I loved the signs. Local pub is ok, great butcher in Broughton which is the closest village about 10 min drive and Coniston which is a 25 min drive has some nice pubs and restaurants. Great location for exploring, forests, lakes and the sea shore."

"Gorgeous location, beautiful cottage, a little off the beaten track for good pubs and restaurants though The Greyhound Inn a short stroll away was delightful."

"A wonderful cottage in a brilliant location. The only downside was the TVs, not one of them was tuned in right and the main one only had BBC channels. Only a small thing."

"Lovely location, great cottage. Would recommend it to everyone. The cottage has everything you need for your stay."

"It was really good. Everything was good expect it was a bit remote and it got very cold downstairs even though the heating was on and it was burning upstairs."

"Great cottage, really clean, with everything you need. Be aware it is an upside down Iayout. Confusing for dogs that are usually not allowed upstairs!I recommend The Greyhound Inn, just a few minutes walk, really friendly.I have one problem with the cottage, as the owner of two dogs the first things on my search criteria are a dog friendly with an enclosed garden. We look for an enclosed garden because the dogs are on holiday too. At Jenlea the garden is over the other side of the lane and also there is a request saying please don’t exercise your dogs in the garden. I wouldn’t recommend the cottage to anyone hoping to have a garden for their dog to play in.Apart from this point, I definitely recommend Jenlea cottage but I think it’s better suited to people without dogs."

"This is a beautiful cottage close to so many walks and places of interest. The upstairs open plan area feels roomy and is well decorated. The sky lights are a definite plus. The cottage is clean and comfortable and the owner is extremely pleasant and accommodating. Will book to go again in the future."

"A very nice little cottage. Not dog friendly at all though. There are signs all over requesting that dogs aren't here or there, and that this gets left here, and not to do this and that. Repetitive signs too, it felt like you couldn't turn without seeing a sign about how you should be in their cottage. Perhaps they had a few bad experiences in the past, but it just made the stay uncomfortable. And asking to not exercise my dog in the garden - she likes running around. It's a bit much to try stop her from running a bit when she's in a closed, off-property garden. This would be a nice cottage for a couple without pets. And forget about the wine and chocolate, those don't actually get left."

"Great cottage, the pub down the road was excellent. No internet in the house and the tv in the living area didn’t work except to play DVDs Nice enclosed garden for the dog but it isn’t actually attached to the house. The cottage has signs saying that dogs are not aloud in bedrooms which would have been helpful to know before booking The views from the house are lovely and it was immaculately clean"
