    "Stunning cottage with everything you need to fully embrace your stay. The cottage has been decorated to an extremely high standard with fixtures and fittings to match. The addition of a heavy door curtain to ward off the chill and reduce traffic noise would have resulted in a perfect score all round. Would it stop me from rebooking - absolutely not."

    "What a location. Applegarth is situated in the heart of Ambleside. Everything is on your doorstep. Shops. Bakeries. Pubs. Restaurants. Mountains. Walks. Streams. Play areas. Parking across the road is easy & convenient. No problems getting a space. In fact 5 of the days there we didn’t even need the car due to the location convenience. The house itself is beautiful. Ideal for 2 families with kids. The top floor is beautifully done with a stand alone bath. However we had the double room on the first floor as our kids had the twin room opposite. The only downside was that I struggled to sleep due to the beds & pillows being extremely soft, but that’s personal preference. There’s walks situated right on your doorstep & we had dry weather all week. The kids loved the outdoors & loved playing hide & seek across the 3 floors of the house. Tv in the lounge is tiny but not an issue as we weren’t in much. A little pricey but that’s kids school holidays for you. All cleaning equipment provided inc hoover & iron. And the place is incredibly clean. Would 100% recommend here"

    "What a lovely cottage! Bright, clean and furnished to an excellent standard. Almost gave it full marks, but the bed was a bit soft for us and the internet was a little unreliable. But I am being incredibly critical, and everything else was perfect. It is opposite the car park and the complementary pass is also valid in other South Lakeland car parks. The cottage is also right in the centre of town, so lots of lovely restaurants and pubs, and of course it is right in the middle of the Lakes, so lots of fab walks on the door step.All in all, a brilliant (if rainy!) week."

    "Fantastic place to stay in Ambleside, everything you need and really good quality. Everything Ambleside has to offer is within a couple of minutes walk. Yes the main road is outside but the traffic dies down later on and you will be out most of the day anyway."

    "Fabulous cottage in great location. Delightful modern decor.A bit awkward parking up immediately in front of the cottage as you hold up traffic which is less than ideal but you can easily park in the car park across the road and walk the 30 metres or so - just takes a little bit longer that’s all ?Can be a bit noisy from traffic if you like to sleep with window open. TV’s maybe a bit smaller than modern standards but I’m really nitpicking now and you shouldn’t want to watch tv when you’re staying in the Lakes anyway ?Overall a great place to stay."

    "Absolutely fantastic house. Spotlessly clean, super modern and renovated to a really high standard. Very cosy (we only needed the heating on downstairs and the whole house stayed warm). Right in the centre of Ambleside but not aware of noise from traffic either during the day or at night. Bathrooms were especially lovely. Car park right across the street and permits provided. Front entrance up steps but back entrance up a slope so could get the pram in and out easily. Loads of equipment provided for cooking. Only tiny downside was no downstairs loo (but that’s just because we are used to one and a bit lazy!) and internet was a little bit intermittent. Otherwise no faults at all."
