Conveniently located in the heart of the Lake District there are many pretty villages close by including Coniston and Hawkshead and nearby Ambleside has a cinema, plus many shops and pubs to enjoy all a short walk away along a pavement that takes you over Rothay Bridge.

A great cottage in a good location, just 15-20 minutes walk into Ambleside. Outstanding preparation before we arrived and everything we could possibly want in the cottage although we ate out a fair bit we could have easily prepared food for the family all week. Highly recommended!

Wayside Cottage was the perfect base for our holiday. After unloading my car i parked up in the designated parking area and didnt drive again for the whole holiday. Ambleside is a 10 minute walk and there is a public footpath at the side of the cottage that takes you up into the hills behind the cottage and onwards to numerous walks. The cottage itself was perfect with three good sized bedrooms and the kitchen is very well equiped and has a large dining table for family meals. I would highly recommend Wayside Cottage to anyone
