Kirkstone Cottage is the perfect base from which to enjoy a very memorable Lake District holiday cottage. The cottage is situated in an ideal location with leisure facilities including swimming pool, gym, bar and restaurant on site.
Winding between the stone farm buildings you will find cobbled streets, overlooked by the clock tower, paths leading to flower filled courtyards and lawned areas. The reception provides DVD rental, tourist information service and an internet station. In all Whitbarrow Village provides everything to make your stay a memorable one no matter what time of year you holiday.

The cottage is very well equipped, modern, centrally heated and comprises:-Ground floor Lounge with TV, video, DVD player, hi-fi and sofa bed.
Kitchen fully equipped with oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher.
First Floor, master double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with WC, balcony with outside furniture.
Twin bedroom.
Bunk bedroom.
Bathroom with hand held shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
All gas, electric, bed linen and towels provided.

Booked late for a New year away with both friends and kids. Accommodation was excellent although bunk room was only big enough for 2 kids. There is a double sofa bed downstairs as the official beds 7 and 8 our 5 year old just slept on the floor in the big double room with us and a blow up bed, not ideal but better than us sleeping downstairs !!The new year dinner was also very good and we all had a great time, this was the 1st time we had really seen in the new year with the kids (ages 10, 10 and 5) they all lasted till 1am !. Via a previous review we phoned ahead and booked the new year, thanks for the tip as otherwise we would not have got in. The pool is great as is the bar area with games room (pool table and table tennis), there was a crazy golf and play ground to aid entertainment. There are two pubs within 40 min walk that do food we went to the boot and shoe in greystoke good food and good beer worth the walk.

We spent a week at the property with family including 4 children aged 3-11. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable with great extras such as family games and books.The holiday village is perfect when the inevitable rain comes, as it has a swimming pool, games room and restaurant which offers family discounts on some evenings. The location is great for Keswick and the fells.Overall a very successful trip. We will be back!!
