One of the most picturesque villages in the Lake District, Glenridding has a large number of amenities for its size including shops, pub, internet cafe, restaurants and the Ullswater Steamers pick up and drop off making exploring the lake without a car easy.
Some of the most scenic walks can be taken right from the door, Aira Force is a stunning water fall cascading to the lake below and of course the shores of Lake Ullswater provide some of the best view points from which to admire the mountains above.
Located at the foot of Kirkstone Pass popular Ambleside and Windermere are both just a short drive away and are definitely worth a day out.

The ground floor apartment has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to cater for a family, two couples or for those who have difficulty with stairs.
Although there is no garden with the property, across the road is a grassed area which leads down to the lake and Ullswater Steamers and is the perfect picnic venue on a summers day.

The location of this small ground floor flat is beautiful. It is nicely sized and has a good layout. It is equipped with everything you might need plus more. In fact it is so well equipped that the cupboards in the kitchen leave little space for your own food and the wardrobes are crammed with hoovers, high chair and a cot etc. Fine for a family with a young child but we would have preferred the space to hang clothes and hide away suitcases. The flat was clean but sadly was damp in most rooms and some walls, curtains and blinds had patches of mould and the whole flat smelt musty. The photographs do not show the main road that runs just a few feet from the bedroom windows and this on the warm summer evenings we enjoyed made it impossible to leave windows open due to traffic noise and therefore made the flat hot. Indeed, it is probably this that contributes to the damp. The village is great with a few small but well equipped village shops. There are plenty of places to eat and we would recommend Fellbites which is in the centre of the village. Great food and pleasant staff. Food at the Inn on the Lakes was superb, pricey but well worth it with complimentary coffee and chocolate mints to follow. All in all a lovely stay that would have been better if the ventilation in the flat was improved to reduce the damp and the musty smell and if storage was improved by tailoring the equipment to the guest requirements.
