. High Thrushbank enjoys a truly fabulous setting a ¼ of a mile from Loweswater, with a view of the lake, forest and fells beyond. This 18th-century, traditional character cottage has been renovated to be as eco friendly as possible. It is fully double glazed and insulated, and hot water and heating are primarily by solar panels and air heat source pump, with oil boiler and electricity as a back up. It is perfect for two or three families or groups of walkers on holiday together. It has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a cosy sitting room and a spacious living/dining room with large dining table and comfortable seating areas. The very large and beautiful garden with lawn, shrubs, trees, garden furniture and beautiful views is often visited by red squirrels and a vast array of bird life. There is something for everyone in the area, cycling, rock climbing, fishing, low level walking round the lake or more energetic fell walking. The award-winning Kirkstile Inn is within 10 minutes’ walking distance and is renowned for excellent home cooked food and its own brewery. Crummock Water and Buttermere are both nearby and the extensive Cumbrian coast is only a 20-minute drive away.
