"A great holiday. Downsides were that it took a while before hot water had heated up and heating was effective. And opening the back door is a nightmare!!"

"Wonderful location for walking. Bus stop very close to access Keswick. Cottage full of charm and character. Lots of space."

"Borrowdale is a beautiful location and Derwent Water is close. So, fell walking, being out on the water and good pubs are all just a walk out the door. Nokka itself was a disappointment. I was told when I made our booking that Nokka was on the side road. It's on the main road and unlike the photograph its paintwork is not crisp white and green. The cottage has a tired, poorly maintained look throughout and is far from clean. It is a pity because not too much attention to detail would make it really charming. As it is it's very expensive for a property that is so run down."

"We had a splendid time in Nokka Cottage in April 2019. We were an extended family of seven people with ages ranging from 8 to 70. The beds were comfortable, the house was warm, the showers excellent and all the equipment worked. The kitchen is not comfortable and the kitchen table, though adequate for more than our number, was hard to get round so there was a lot of shuffling around to let people in and out. The low beams claimed victims. The location is excellent, however, and the local pub and restaurant are literally just over the road. The scenery of course is unsurpassed. The house is well supplied with books and the living rooms are comfortable. There is a small shop with very limited groceries not far away but you need to do a big shop before you arrive bringing all staples as well as food with you. All in all it is a very good place to stay in Borrowdale."

"Perfect location for classic walks like Scafell Pike, Borrowdale, Haystacks, Newlands Horseshoe etc. Pub next door and another pub with good food in Stonethwaite (a 20 min walk). Also well connected for people without a car - can get to Penrith by train and then bus to Keswick and another to the village. Lovely old house with pretty much everything you need and big enough for 2-3 families to share. Highly recommended."

    "Very homely and fabulous location."
