Fortunately the weather was great so we had all our meals outside. The bed was comfy but the headroom was decidedly dangerous. The downstairs bedroom was dark and dingy, There was a horrible smell in the cupboard under the stairs. In fact the whole cottage was a bit smelly and we opened all the windows on arrival

Kitchen very well equipped if not overly equipped, not a lot of space to store food for self catering but we moved a few things about and managed to put our shopping away. Bonus having a washing machine. Sofas, kitchen tables and chairs were adequate, maybe a few to many cushions but comfy. Tv and DVD player in good working order and quite a few channels to look through. The icing on the cake for us was the games room with a free pool table, table tennis table and loads of games, jigsaws, dvds and books. With sheep on your door step, skiddaw in your back garden and Keswick down the road I really couldn’t have asked for more. I would happily recommend and I’d come stay again.

A quiet area to stay With lots of walks nearby. The cottage was generally clean but there were areas we felt had been overlooked. We know that changeover days are very busy for holiday let owners but feel a deep clean of Dodd at some point would benefit the cottage. The beam in the upstairs bedroom is low but hubby who is 6 foot tall managed navigating it fine getting into bed. The bed was lovely and comfy, we slept well. If you have back problems you’d be better to use the downstairs bedroom. Lots of lovely hot water and although the shower is compact it works well. We didn’t use the downstairs bedroom so can’t comment on it.
