Snaptrip says

Wheelbarrow Castle is highly praised for its spaciousness, comfort, and beautiful surroundings, making it ideal for large family gatherings and group holidays. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, sociable dining area, and the warmth of the property. The hot tub is a popular feature, although its additional cost is noted. The owner's helpfulness and responsiveness to issues are frequently commended.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its tidiness and the absence of cobwebs. One review mentioned the need for a deep clean, but this seems to be an isolated opinion.

The location is generally appreciated for its lovely setting and proximity to local attractions and facilities. However, a few guests noted the lack of a local pub and the absence of an enclosed garden.

Comfort is frequently mentioned, with guests finding the property warm and the beds comfortable. There are comments about the house being cosy despite its large size, although one review suggested that a bed was too soft.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the kitchen and social areas. Some guests suggested improvements such as additional dishwashers or fridges, and there were minor issues with WiFi coverage and a wasp nest. The hot tub is a highlight, despite the extra cost.

While some guests mentioned welcome gifts and appreciated the heating, there are not enough references to consistently assess the level of thoughtfulness across all reviews. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

The space meant we could all spread out if need be or come together in the communal areas. Nothing was too much trouble from our host too, great weekend

The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. It’s equipped with everything you need: high chairs, baby cots, z-beds, tonnes of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. Beds were comfy and there is so much space! Considering the size of the property it stayed lovely and warm. We had such a lovely time there, it’s a little dated but it’s got a lot of charm.

The house was an absolute gem, even with 17 of us it felt spacious and David was incredibly helpful over the weekend. The hot tub was a great addition and there's also lovely areas to walk nearby. Would happily stay here again!
