The cottage is a 30 minute walk through beautiful countryside to reach the village of Madley with a shop and pub. Explore the many walks from the doorstep of this Herefordshire cottage, including a short farm walk for guests to see the pedigree Hereford cattle and buy fresh eggs from the owner's farm. This is an area steeped in history, with beautiful Black and White timber villages, bustling market towns like Ledbury and Ludlow and ancient castles to visit. National Trust members are well-catered for with The Weir Garden a few minutes down the road, and several other properties within easy reach. Just a short drive away guests can enjoy the ancient towns of Hay-on-Wye and Hereford, fishing on the River Wye, the magnificent Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. You can also enjoy cider made from the apples and pears grown in Peaceful Cottage's orchard at Gwatkin Cider, or visit the Cider Museum in Hereford. Madley is a small Herefordshire village in the Wye Valley, near the Golden Valley. Madley has its own moat, as well as two village pubs. Madley is within easy driving distance of the cathedral city of Hereford, and also the 'town of books' Hay-on-Wye, both wonderful days out. Close too are the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Forest of Dean.
