Action

Bespoke Treasure Trails and Walking

There are 4 marked trails across the 800 acre estate, all varying in distance and terrain. They are named after the daughters of the family which own the estate, and each trail is marked by stakes denoting the initial letter. From a leisurely 2 mile stroll to a 6 mile hike; there is something for everyone. Just ask the owners for more information.

The property also has a fantastic 12 mile Treasure Trail, where guests can see all the best bits of the estate, have fun and learn all about Brinsop Court Estate in the process. The owners offer a specially-designed hand-drawn map that features a poem about Brinsop with 24 blank spaces. Follow the marked trails and look out for the birdboxes featuring the missing words to complete the poem. Service must be requested on booking.

Cycle Hire

Hop on a bike to collect the bread and milk from Tillington Village Store, or earn that pint at The Bell Inn. Whether guests enjoy the paths around the estate or explore further afield, it is great to have a bike on hand. Guests are welcome to bring their own or hire bikes out at £15 per bike per stay.

Birdwatching and animal spotting

Brinsop has a dedicated crown of ornithologists and bird watchers who like nothing more than exploiting this rare and peaceful area for those special spots.

Fishing

The local area is awash with great spots for fly fishing and angling. Please enquire for more information. There are 200 trout in the moat surrounding the manor house which guests are welcome to start with! They are perfect to cook on the fire pit afterwards as the sun goes down.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

The owners can bring in traps and guns for clay pigeon shooting if guests fancy that real 'Lord of the Manor' experience and a little bit of friendly competition. Ask for more details.

Creative

Creative classes and experiences, events and conferences are all offered. Anything from photography, art, floristry and cookery to recitals, weddings and conferences, the owners can open the banqueting hall and Elizabethan library for these activities.

With all the space, guests will want to liasion with the team, who can organise any activity for two guests or 60. They are qualified and reliable suppliers and teachers. These activities can be the perfect addition to a break at Brinsop to try something a little different to relax.

En suite and family bathrooms
Open fires and wood burners
Games room with large flat screen TV and DVD player, pool table, table tennis table and WiFi
The Queen Anne room comfortably seats 22 and has an open fire.
A wonderful oak staircase climbs up to the fabulous naturally-lit galleried landing and reading area. This overlooks your tennis court and some beautiful ancient pastures – indeed, the very field where allegedly St George slayed the dragon – and onwards to the Welsh Hills.
The bathrooms and bedrooms – with their super-king sized beds and Egyptian cotton linen – combine modern comfort and luxury living with genuine heritage. Remember Wordsworth stayed here many times. This is the real meaning of a country estate escape.
For comfy dinners in the well equipped modern and spacious farmhouse kitchens, four door AGAs keep you warm and make cooking easy as pie… although it is even easier if you choose a personal chef to cook up a storm for you and your party, while you relax in the huge oak parlour in front of the log fire. We provide all logs and kindling for you during your stay.
There are two downstairs bedrooms for those wanting to avoid having to climb the stairs at the end of the day.
Day or night, the approach to the manor house is breath taking. You will take the drive that guides you around the moat and towards the original ancient oak door entrance, before entering into a warm and bright hall. Vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and exposed original stonework make this a place to remember. The bathrooms are modern and efficient and sofa beds are available if you want to increase the number of guests. The ancient courtyard is the perfect sun trap.
