The village of Abbey Dore is situated on the River Dore, at the southern end of the beautiful Golden Valley, close to the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Black Mountains. The village is home to the Abbey Dore Court Gardens, open to the public between April and September, Dore Abbey, founded in 1147 by Cistercian monks and restored to its present form in the 18th and 19th Century, and the Neville Arms, a pub serving local ales and ciders. Surrounded by pleasant orchards and cornfields, the village is also close to the Offa's Dyke and Wye Valley walks - a wonderful all year round location with plenty to see and do for all the family.

Super views and walks. Thanks Ian and team.

The property was clean, well presented and in an idyllic setting. Sadly the weather wasn’t the best (although it could have been worse) and was sad to see the farm and surrounding area saturated after the excess rainfall we have all been experiencing. The cottage is set in a quiet area close to the main farm house. There was no sign of active farming activity so can only presume that the farm operations are somewhere else. We certainly weren’t disturbed at any point during our stay and would consider staying again, if we were in the area again

Plenty to do in the local area and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We have booked again for next year!
