About this property

A charming detached cottage in the thriving village of Upper Colwall, close to the beautiful town of Malvern. Offering views of the surrounding countryside, this traditional cottage offers ideal accommodation for a get-together with family and friends who wish to enjoy a wonderful part of the country, with many walks and cycle routes directly from the doorstep. The sitting room boasts the original wooden floor, a sumptuous corner sofa and a warming woodburning stove, while the dining room next door is perfect for enjoying a lazy breakfast or celebratory dinner. The cottage has a very well-equipped kitchen and three charming bedrooms, with the front two offering lovely views of the unspoilt countryside. Outside is a side patio area with steps up to the tiered rear garden, offering seating and BBQ areas, as well as long distance views from the upper part of the garden; a lovely place to sit and relax with a refreshing drink at the end of the day. Just a short walk takes you to the local award-winning CAMRA pub which serves home-cooked food, and just one mile away, the main village offers many amenities, including a local butcher, shop, chemist and Post Office. The ancient town of Malvern is two miles away and boasts unique shops and antique centres, as well as a local theatre, cinema, tea rooms and restaurants and many miles of footpaths and cycle routes on the stunning Malvern Hills. A wonderful cottage to be enjoyed at any time of year.

The Worcestershire town of Malvern is situated on the eastern side of the Malvern Hills. The town holds antique fairs, WI country markets, farmers’ markets and many auctions throughout the year, as well as the Great Malvern Food Festival in June, and it also offers shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes and art galleries. Nearby there are many outdoor activities and National Trust properties, and the Forest of Dean is only 30 miles away.

The view across the countryside from the lounge and master bedroom is beautiful, and the garden is nicely maintained. We had no problems with finding parking right outside and getting out was no difficulty - you can turn around to the way you came or continue up the track to where it meets the main road. It was lovely to be able to find great walks right from the property. Email communication from the owner was fantastic and all was clear with instructions. We would definitely have no hesitation in choosing this property again should we return to this part of the country.

Unfortunately we found the outside of the property very overgrown & untidy...steep steps to seating area are in a bad state of repair & overgrown with weeds & grass.Garden furniture left a lot to be desired. Inside it was very musty smelling despite the windows being open on arrival.. the stair carpet was very grubby & stained..there was green mould on the dining room floor. Kitchen not very clean sink stained & 2 cups in cupboard obviously not been washed. On a positive we by pure chance met the owners wife who was visiting her father who lives next door & on voicing our concerns..made a good effort to tidy the outside & some of the inside ..but the carpets needs professionally cleaning. The plumbing problem issue which has been recognised by the owner a few weeks ago is still awaiting attention. The cleaning company has obviously not been satisfactory..but it is obvious the owner doesn't check his property . The beds were comfy & we were fortunate to have lovely weather in a beautiful part of our country.

It was very clean and tidy and has a nice homely feel to it. We had a dog and the walks from the door of the property are lovely. The view from the front of the house is wonderful. The owner couldn't be more helpful. We will be visiting again soon.
